American Red Cross Babysitting Certification
Course Information
The Babysitter's Handbook will be included and can be a valuable on-the-job resource. The handbook has first aid action-plans with simple directions for handling emergencies, as well as many other essential techniques for babysitting.The course covers:
- Safety issues
- First aid and life-saving skills
- Preventing illness and injuries
- Basic child care
- Decision-making skills
- Age-appropriate behavior and games
Participants will be required to demonstrate several first aid skills during the certification class including helping a choking victim.

What to Bring
The Babysitting Certification class is 8 hours long. Because of the amount of time, there will be a lunch break, so a sack lunch is needed. Please also bring note taking materials (paper & pencils).
