Creating Confidence & Independence in the Kitchen
Cooking encourages children's thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also helps them develop skills in counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect. Most importantly, cooking can help develop a child's confidence and independence in and out of the kitchen!
Our Cooking Academy camps are for chefs in grades 3 to 8 who are excited about cooking and learning new skills in the kitchen. Whether your child is an independent chef or is still learning, they will be able to prepare a wide variety of delicious meals for the family. KidSpirit cooking staff will be leading all activities in person, helping your chefs build and learn new cooking skills from our kitchen on campus. Every class, your child will prepare a delicious dishes that they will enjoy.

Chef and scientist! These young chefs will get to explore the chemistry behind cooking while learning the basics of cooking and nutrition. Master the process of emulsification, make your own salt crystals, and so much more--then understand how that can be applied to cooking!
Move over, Bobby Flay - these campers are learning to slice, dice, and sauté! In this class, our master chefs will gain confidence and become comfortable in the kitchen. Chefs will learn to prepare nutritious meals, snacks, sides, and desserts, putting chefs on track to have a hands-on approach to cooking and a healthy lifestyle.

What to Wear:
Depending on how comfortable your chef is in the kitchen, you may need to provide them with some support. We do our best to choose recipes that will allow families to be as hands-off as possible, but it may be necessary to help them out during the class.
