Summer Camp FAQ

Registration and Classes

How do I register?

Registration is a first-come, first-served basis. We enforce class size caps, but we do offer waitlist options for most of our classes!

Visit this page, Contact us, or stop by the KidSpirit office in Langton Hall Room 125.

Are you a competitive program?

KidSpirit is a non-competitive program with an emphasis on skill development and mastery. All activities promote fun, safety, camaraderie, teamwork, and good sportsmanship in conjunction with physical and social skill development. Although we are non-competitive, we do teach our campers the relevant sports skills needed for competitive programs.

The Competitive Gymnastics Program has moved locations and is now run by the OSU Athletic Program by the Gymnastics Program. If interested you can call (541) 737-1969 to get more information.

Payment Information

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of registration for all programs. For Summer Camp, payment for the first session and a $25.00 deposit for each additional session, is due at the time of registration. All other sessions must be paid for in full before they begin.

Can I get a refund, or change my class registration?

Yes! Class sessions can be changed or cancelled a minimum of two weeks prior to the first day of class for a full refund, minus the $25 deposit. We do not offer refunds or cancellations once the class session has begun, except for medical emergencies with a note from a doctor.

Cancellations and Refunds

Participant Cancellations and Changes: A $25 administration fee will be charged for all cancellations or class changes. There are NO refunds once classes have begun. KidSpirit will make exceptions in the case of medical or family emergencies with a doctor’s note and/or other documentation.

KidSpirit reserves the right to cancel or combine classes that are below the minimum participant requirement. Should cancellations occur, KidSpirit staff will contact the participants’ family about alternative class options. There will be no administration fee if KidSpirit cancels a class, or if you are moved off of a waitlist.

If weather conditions cause the cancellation of a class, KidSpirit will leave information on a recorded message at 541.737.5437. If possible, we will schedule make-up classes in the case of a weather cancellation.

Have prices increased?

Yes. On July 1st, until 2023, minimum wage will increase, and adjustments will be made accordingly.

Do KidSpirit payments count for tax deductions?

Yes (with the exception of gymnastics). Please note as well, your payments could qualify for the Health and Flexible Spending Arrangement. Consult your tax advisor or IRS Publication 503 form for complete information.

How can I pay KidSpirit?

Exact cash (KidSpirit does not keep change), checks, debit, or credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, and Discover Card) are accepted. You can pay online through your Ideal-Logic account, over the phone, or in person.

Does KidSpirit have a lost and found?

Yes we do! The lost and found is located in Langton Hall. Please clearly label your child’s items with first and last name and phone number to make your item easier to find!

Drop-Off/Pick-Up and Absences (this can be confusing)

Where can I park?

In response to the ever-changing campus landscape, we have created a parking page! Please visit it for detailed information on parking. For more questions and information about parking contact OSU Parking Services at 541.737.2583.

Are make-up classes available?

Two make-up classes are available only for those in gymnastics. *Note: These classes are not guaranteed and need to be requested a week in advance.

How do I pick-up my child early?

Contact the KidSpirit office 20 minutes prior to pick-up by calling 541.737.5437. We will have your camper ready in the office, but remember, all standard KidSpirit check-out procedures apply during early pick-up.

What if I drop-off my child late?

First off, don't worry! Just bring your child to the KidSpirit office in Langton 125, where we will check your child in and then bring them to their group.

The KidSpirit Program

What skills are taught at KidSpirit?

Developmentally appropriate sports, art, science, and/or cooking skills are taught within our programs.

Do instructors use lesson plans for their classes?

Yes. All instructors use a structured lesson plan template for each of the classes they teach. Lesson plans are required and approved by supervisors.

    Insurance Forms

Please share your insurance information with us when you register your child.

Please be patient with us during the medical history portion of the registration. Our office staff is trained to get through all thirty-two medical history questions as fast as possible. It is important that we know as much as possible about your child so that our staff and medical responders can provide quality care in the event of an emergency. Each of the questions we ask could save your child's life.

    Class Availability

If you register in person, over the phone, or online, class availability will be confirmed at the time of registration.
