Registration and Classes

How do I register?

Registration is a first-come, first-served basis. We enforce class size caps, but we do offer waitlist options for most of our classes!

Visit this page to register, Contact us, or stop by the KidSpirit office in Langton Hall Room 125.

Note: If you made the registration over the phone with us, we would also need you to complete the consent before the camp starts. You can record your consent online by logging into your account using the link in the confirmation email or you can also download the consent form from our website at and email the completed form to us at [email protected].

What payment options are available?

You can pay with a debit or credit card on our online registration site or over the phone immediately after registering, or you may pay by cash, check or card in-person in our office, Langton Hall room 125.

When are payments due?

Payment for RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS CLASSES is due, in full, at the time of the registration.

For SUMMER DAY CAMP, payment for the first session and a $25.00 non-refundable deposit for each additional session is due at the time of registration. All sessions past the first one must be paid for in full before they begin.

Can I switch classes?

Yes you can! You may change classes free of charge up to two weeks prior to the first day of your camp session. Within the two-week time period, before the session begins, you will be charged a $25 administration fee for each class change.

A $25 administration fee also applies to any cancellation of a registered class.

Are refunds permitted?

With sufficient time before cancellation, a refund will be granted except for a small cancellation fee. Once classes have already begun, we do NOT offer refunds for cancellations. We do make exceptions in the case of medical or family emergencies, with a doctor’s note and/or other documentation.

What if the class is canceled?

KidSpirit reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if the minimum number of required participants per class is not met. Should a cancellation occur, KidSpirit staff will contact you about our alternative class options. If we cancel a class or move you off the waitlist, we do not charge an administration fee.

Will KidSpirit cancel classes due to weather?

In severe conditions, KidSpirit may cancel an activity due to weather. If this is the case, KidSpirit will leave information on a recorded message at 541.737.5437. We'll be sure to keep you in the loop and let you know if we schedule any make-up sessions!

Does KidSpirit have a lost and found?

Yes we do! The lost and found is located in Langton Hall. Please clearly label your child’s items with first and last name and phone number to make your item easier to find!

What to wear / bring

What should my child wear to camp?

All campers MUST wear athletic, closed-toed shoes. Gymnastics classes require clothing free from buttons and zippers, and long hair must be tied back.

Masks and facial coverings are welcome. For updated information about OSU and KidSpirit policies, check the Health & Safety page.

What should my child bring to camp?

If your camper is full-day or Lunch Care, and does not want the free provided lunch, please be sure they bring lunch. Also bring a backpack, snacks, a refillable water bottle, and sunscreen.

What should my child LEAVE HOME or NOT bring?

Games, toys, stuffed animals, action figures, trading cards and electronic devices are not allowed at camp. All handheld devices (iPad, tablets, DS, Switch, etc.), money, and other valuables should be left at home. Any cell phone must stay in your child's backpack and remain off during camp hours. Messages for your child can be left at the KidSpirit office at 541.737.5437.

Please note that KidSpirit will not be held liable for any damage or loss of personal belongings.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up, Visitation and Absences

Where can I park?

In response to the ever-changing campus landscape, we have created a parking page! Please visit it for detailed information on parking. For more questions and information about parking contact OSU Parking Services at 541.737.2583.

Where do I pick up and drop off my child for KidSpirit?

The KidSpirit drop-off and pick-up location is between Langton and Waldo halls, unless otherwise specified. The office will alert families if the location changes for any reason. Note: anyone who is picking up your camper must be authorized, and provide a photo ID.

How do I change the authorized pick-up/visitor list for my child?

To make changes to the authorized pick-up/visitor list of your child, you (the guardian) may add or remove emergency contacts or authorized people at our online portal. You can also give us a call at (541) 737-5437 or come into our office to add to the list. Be prepared to supply photo ID in person, or answer a few questions by phone, to confirm your identity as the registered guardian.

How do I pick-up my child early?

The KidSpirit Program

KidSpirit Staff -- who are they?

The KidSpirit staff are the greatest group of people you will ever meet! Our hiring process is highly selective to ensure we find the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable high school and college students around. Each staff member attends 22 hours of intensive training, including CPR and First Aid certification. Staff consistently receive feedback and evaluations to ensure they continue their path to excellence.

What skills are taught at KidSpirit?

Developmentally appropriate sports, fitness, art, cooking, academic skills and more are taught within our programs. But the fun doesn't end there! As a part of our KidSpirit mission, we guide our campers along to teach them the social and emotional skills they'll need to form lifelong friendships, all while taking part in sports, arts, and science instruction. Visit our KidSpirit mission page for more information on our curriculums and skills!

Do instructors use lesson plans for their classes?

Yes! All instructors use a structured lesson plan template for every activity, which they have submitted to their supervisors for feedback and approval.

What activities will be offered?

Our activity schedules can be found on the program pages on our website, or in the details of the events while registering in Ideal-Logic.

Occasionally our activity schedules may not be posted as soon as registration opens, especially in the case of Summer Day Camps. We begin enrolling for our camps while we are also hiring for the amazing staff that bring our camps to life, and we work to align our activities to the skill sets of our staff to offer the best experience possible.

If you have pressing questions about scheduling and activities, feel free to call us, email us or come into the office. We are always working hard to keep all our materials up to date, and are developing the best possible programs! Thank you for your patience!

Are you a competative program?

KidSpirit is a non-competitive program with an emphasis on skill development and mastery. All activities promote fun, safety, camaraderie, teamwork, and good sportsmanship in conjunction with physical and social skill development. Although we are non-competitive, we do teach our campers the relevant sports skills needed for competitive programs.

Separately from KidSpirit, OSU has a Competitive Gymnastics Program for girls eight and up. The program is now run by the OSU Gymnastics Program. Read more

Do you require insurance forms?

We ask that everyone please share their insurance and medical information with us when you register your child.

Whether you are registering by the phone or filling out the form online, please be patient with us during the medical history portion of the registration. Thirty-two medical history questions may seem like a lot but in the event of an emergency, it is important that we know as much as possible about your child so that our staff and medical responders can provide quality care. Each of the questions we ask could save your child's life.

What if my child takes medications?

All participants requiring medication during the hours they are at KidSpirit must fill out an additional form, and bring the medication in the original container to the KidSpirit office. All medications will be kept in the office and dispensed as prescribed by a doctor.

Are waiting lists available?

Yes! If your preferred group is already full, you may add your child’s name to a wait list when registering. You are not obligated to switch classes if the activity becomes available. You will be notified if your child has been moved off of a wait list!

Classes - more info (Summer Day Camp)

Can I switch my camper's classes after I have already registered and paid?

Yes. However, KidSpirit charges a $25 administration fee to switch classes after registration. If there is a medical reason, the fee will be waived if a doctor’s note is provided.

How can my camper get into the same group as their friends?

For privacy reasons, we cannot share information about other participants' registrations. You may speak with the other child's guardian to coordinate your registrations.

If you would like to register for a certain group you may do so during registration. If you would like to change the group you are already registered for, call, email or visit the office for help.

Can I register my kids to be in the same group, even if they are in different age categories?

Yes - depending on the numbers for the groups, we can make accommodations. Please call our office for more information.

Are there scholarships for KidSpirit Summer Day Camp?

Yes. You must apply by the scholarship deadline as listed on the Summer Camp Fees & Payments page.

My camper won't be coming to camp today. What should I do?

Please call the KidSpirit office at 541.737.5437 to notify us of your campers absence.

My child forgot to bring lunch. What are they going to eat?

The Corvallis School District provides campers a free lunch every day of summer camp. There are vegetarian options in addition to the provided free lunch. Lunch is served from 12:00 - 12:30, and campers will be in lunch groups until 1:00.

How often will the kids be outside?

The groups are scheduled to be outside about 50% of the time here. However, we also encourage our staff to go outside as often as possible.

Health FAQs

What specific requirements and procedures are in place at KidSpirit for COVID, compared to past years?

Check out our Health & Safety page for all of this more detailed information!

What is your policy on head lice?

KidSpirit follows Corvallis School District policies on lice (louse) and nit (eggs) in accordance with CDC reccomendations. In the case of suspected head lice, Kidspirit follows the following protocol:

  • We screen a child for head lice if they appear to have symptoms (such as tickling or itching on the scalp and hair, sores caused by scratching the head, or signs of irritable sleeping due to itching at night)
  • If lice are found, we notify the family and suggest prompt and effective treatment
  • Campers may remain at camp and our staff will limit close, head-to-head contact with other campers. (We always recommend that you encourage your child not to share hair grooming or clothing items. Our staff will do the same if they see this behavior)
  • We will notify all parents if we discover multiple cases of head lice at once, and we always encourage parents to check their child for lice
  • KidSpirit will never disclose the name(s) of the affected camper(s)
