Our first concern is always your health, especially during the global COVID-19 health situation. In response to concerns around COVID-19 and Oregon State University’s current risk reduction response, KidSpirit programming Spring 2020 start date has been tentatively changed to Saturday, May 2. Please refer to the university’s COVID-19 page for up-to-date information on the university’s response.

From us to you, thank you for this awesome Winter term!

It would not have been possible without all of the staff, volunteers, donors, participants, parents and YOU!

KidSpirit Health Updates:

Our first concern is always your health, especially during the global COVID-19 health situation. In response to concerns around COVID-19 and Oregon State University’s current risk reduction response, KidSpirit programming Spring 2020 start date has been tentatively changed to Saturday, May 2. Please refer to the university’s COVID-19 page for up-to-date information on the university’s response.

KidSpirit’s Spring 2020 Recreational Gymnastics:

Please know we will keep you in the loop as we adjust our programming and receive further instruction from the University. Our current plan for Spring 2020 Recreational Gymnastics is to shorten our programming to a 5-week session beginning Saturday, May 2 continuing through Monday, June 8 at a pro-rated price. If you have already registered for Spring, we will be issuing refunds for the adjusted price. As we receive further information and approach our tentative May 2 start date, we will re-evaluate and continue to keep you updated! We completely understand the inconvenience this causes to the schedules you juggle and will provide a full refund should you choose to cancel your gymnast’s Spring 2020 registration.

Oregon State University’s Action Steps:

Effective Saturday, March 14, OSU will move to a higher level of response that continues the essential operations of the university, but seeks to reduce the frequency of interactions among students, faculty, staff and visitors throughout all university campuses, centers, facilities and operations. Our focus is on continued university operations and social distancing.

Effective March 14, 2020:

  • Campuses and OSU facilities and operations statewide will remain open.

Effective March 30, 2020:

  • Until at least April 30, no non-essential OSU-sponsored events of more than 50 attendees will be permitted. All events with fewer than 50 attendees will be held with maximum social distancing.

What can you do to help?

  • Have your gymnasts wash their hands often (for at least 20 seconds).
  • Remind your gymnast not to share food, drinks, or utensils with other participants, and to keep an appropriate distance (6 feet distance recommended) from others.
  • Keep your gymnast home if they are sick!
  • Remind your gymnast to cough into their elbows, sneeze into and immediately dispose of tissues, and to wash hands directly after.

All of our recommendations come from the American Camp Association and the Center for Disease Control. For further information, we encourage you to check out the following links!

Thank you for your continued support in keeping KidSpirit a healthy and safe program! Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

With Gratitude,

Karen a.k.a. BigMamaK
Director
