
KidSpirit Cooking Program
Through demonstration and personalized instruction, our culinary staff works with campers to help them learn cooking skills, be creative, and gain confidence in the kitchen while preparing a variety of delicious and nutritious meals and snacks!
Our cooking classes emphasize kitchen safety, clean workspaces, and the nutritional value of the food that we eat.
Classes Offered
(Grades 3 - 8)
Session 1: Top Chefs: Beaver Edition (Jun 23 - Jul 3)
Young chefs will experience a creative culinary journey, developing essential cooking skills and gaining confidence in the kitchen.
Session 2: Garden-to-Table (Jul 7 - 18)
Young chefs will cook herb-centered recipes while growing their very own herb garden to learn about the farm-to-chef relationship and seasonal eating!
Session 3: Chefs in Motion (Jul 21 - Aug 1)
Young chefs will train for a 5k while learning the science behind how nutrition helps us with fuel and recovery.
Session 4: Scientists in the Kitchen (Aug 4 - 15)
Young chefs will learn about science in the kitchen; get ready for color changes, state changes, critical thinking, discoveries, and delicious food!
Session 5: Future Iron Chefs (Aug 19 - Sept 30)
Young chefs will gain confidence slicing, dicing, and sautéing in the kitchen, encouraging a hands-on approach to cooking and a healthy lifestyle.
