Develop Water Safety, Confidence, Independence & Perseverance
At KidSpirit Aquatics, swimmers will work on strokes, kicks and water independence in a non-competitive environment—with a focus on safe water practices, form development and building endurance. Swimmers will use the heated indoor Women's Building pool to develop skills and have a blast! Our talented KidSpirit staff coach with a growth mindset, providing clear feedback that will help swimmers develop and advance!
KidSpirit Aquatics is constructed using the swimming skill sequence and aquatic safety considerations of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Red Cross' lesson plans are well equipped to support all learners at their unique pace, giving students the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, and increasing comfort level in the water with specific and developmentally supportive instruction.

What Level will be the Right Fit?
KidSpirit's levels are based on Red Cross Learn to Swim curriculum, which focuses on many different skills per level, progressing the skills with each level.
Many KidSpirit families have also had classes with the Osborn Aquatic Center, which utilizes Swim America. Progression skills are slightly different between these two, since Swim America masters skills one at a time.
For the purpose of skill level and water comfort level, consider this rough comparison to register a swimmer with experience from Osborn Aquatics—and let's have some fun!

Our Location & Pools
Saturday classes levels 3-6 meet in the Langton Hall pool, at 2450 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, OR 97331. This pool is kept at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (27.8 Celsius). This cooler temperature is fit for safer aerobic and endurance swimming.
Otherwise, KidSpirit utilizes the Women's Building pool at 160 SW 26th St, Corvallis, OR 97331. This pool is 50 feet long and is kept at 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 Celsius).
To reach the Women's building locker room lobby, you may use one of the following:
- Enter the main entrance on the eastern side of the building facing the grassy Memorial Union Quad. Turn immediately left when you enter, go through the d oor, and down the stairs. You will find the locker room lobby in the basement.
- The ADA-accessible entrance on the northern side of the building faces Gilmore Hall. You can use the ramp access to the basement-level door and then cross through the basement. You will find the locker room lobby on the opposite side of the building.
- The outdoor direct pool entrance is unlocked on weekdays only. It is a plain door on the southern side of the building, facing Fairbanks hall.
KidSpirit Aquatics classes are monitored by certified lifeguards, contracted through Dixon Recreation, who rotate between duties to ensure focused and effective supervision. One lifeguard actively monitors the pool during lessons, while the other is on break but ready to respond if needed. This practice follows the Rescue Ready guidelines established by the American Red Cross.
