Develop Water Safety, Confidence, Independence & Perseverance
At KidSpirit Aquatics, swimmers build confidence through stroke development, kicking skills, and water independence in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Our program emphasizes safe water practices, proper form, and endurance building—all while making sure swimmers have fun.
KidSpirit utilizes both the Langton and Women’s Building pools, giving participants dynamic spaces to grow their skills and enjoy the water. Our talented staff coaches with a growth mindset, providing clear, constructive feedback that helps each swimmer progress at their own pace.
KidSpirit Aquatics is structured around the skill progression and aquatic safety standards of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. The Red Cross curriculum is designed to support learners at every stage, allowing students to master each skill before advancing. With developmentally appropriate instruction and a focus on water comfort, swimmers gain the confidence and competence they need to succeed.

The swimmer can then meet their instructor at their designated level on the pool deck. Adults do not need to accompany children onto the pool deck and instead are encouraged to go to the Women building's viewing deck where they can watch the lessons. Awesome! The Women's Building and Langton Hall pools both have elevated viewing decks!
Women's Building:
You must access this balcony through the gym (room 112).
- We recommend entering 112 through the door inside the south staircase (accessible through the locker room lobby).
- Inside the staircase landing you will find the door labeled "112".
- Be cautious once you are on the viewing balcony, as the bleacher stairs are steep.
Kindly be mindful of ongoing classes or groups in the the gym, room 112.
Langton Hall:
- Enter langton hall through the main double doors, located in the middle of the building facing the Memorial Union.
- Continue forward through the hallway and up the short staircase to the viewing deck, room 128.
Visit our parking page for more details!
If the swim level you registered for does not reach the minimum number of students, do not worry! We will do one of two things: Look to see whether it would be reasonable to combine the class with another class of a neighboring level (Your child will still learn all required skills for their level). If that does not work, a member of the KidSpirit team will reach out to your family to coordinate another time that works so your child can keep swimming!
